PLAVE's fifth mini album, HYPERDRIVE, entered the Billboard 200 at No. 31 on the chart dated October 31, 2026. It is the virtual group's first time in the top 40 of Billboard's main album chart. HYPERDRIVE also went to No. 1 on Top Album Sales and World Albums, and PLAVE had never topped either chart before.
Their only earlier Billboard 200 entry came this spring, when Caligo Pt.2 debuted at No. 145 on the chart dated May 2, 2026.

Why No. 1 in sales but No. 31 overall
The two charts measure different things. Top Album Sales counts only album purchases in the US. The Billboard 200 ranks albums by album-equivalent units, which add track sales and on-demand audio streams, converted into albums, to those purchases. HYPERDRIVE sold more copies than any other album in the US that week, while albums with more streams and track sales finished above it on the combined chart.
HYPERDRIVE in Korea
The album came out digitally on October 12 at 6 p.m. KST, with the physical edition following on October 13. Its first-week total on Hanteo Chart (October 13–19) was 1,322,973 copies, the group's best yet, above the 1,255,801 that Caligo Pt.2 set.
The title track, Star Trace, gave PLAVE their first music show trophy of this comeback on MBC's Show! Music Core on October 24. It won with 8,299 points against A2O LITE's "NEON" and NCT WISH's "I SPY".
Mina's Take
My call: HYPERDRIVE is still on the Billboard 200 dated November 7, but outside the top 100.
I don't see much point in asking whether a virtual group's numbers count. K-pop is in a new era, and it needs new thinking. Everything is counted differently now, and PLAVE are one of the clearest examples of that.
